Schedule At-A-Glance


A 1-1/2-Day Virtual College Readiness Workshop and ACAP Scholarship opportunities were offered to those Graduating Seniors who applied to ACAP by the April 30, 2020 deadline.  The students viewed this Virtual Workshop experience as an integral part of preparing to succeed in college and beyond.  See visual of the expected ACAP/NABA Journey (a roadmap).

The
 virtual workshop was held June 22 - 23, 2020 and was built around two (2) themes:

--  Day 1:  "Succeeding in College"

--  Day 2:  "Careers in Accounting and Business"

The 11 students enrolled in the Virtual Workshop were expected to adhere to certain classroom expectations, etc.
A structured 1-1/2-day curriculum provided relevant information and application of tips for succeeding in college and awareness of careers in accounting and business.  There was required pre-work completed prior to the Virtual Workshop, and assignments expected to be completed during the June 22-23 Virtual Workshop.

Grading and Incentives

Students earn points from the time they apply to ACAP throughout the culmination of the Virtual College Readiness Workshop. Points earned relate to the student's responsiveness to requests for information, class attendance and participation, and completion of all assigned work. Monetary incentives were made available for those students who actively engaged in the Virtual College Readiness Workshop.

2020 ACAP Scholarship Highlights

​Students enrolled in the Virtual College Readiness Workshop competed for the ACAP Scholarships.  Completion of the workshop as well as all the required pre-work and other assignments were included in the scholarship criteria.  The Scholarship Application deadline was May 31, 2020.  The link to the online application and other information were sent directly to the participants.  Click here for Closing Ceremony and Awards, including names of the 12 scholarship recipients, with $30,000 in total scholarships awarded.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Persons interested in volunteering as a Guest Speaker or Mentor during the 1-1/2-Day Virtual Workshop or participate in the Virtual Scholarship Interviews, were asked to complete the form below.  See the curriculum and course descriptions for dates, times and topics.  "Virtual Office Hours" provided opportunities for mentoring. Additional logistics were provided later.
